Tax
Efficiency
In
taxable accounts, we take extra care to minimize income taxes by
offsetting gains with losses when available.
Through communication with our clients, we can take into
account taxable events that occur outside our management activities.
Additionally, management of low cost basis assets can be
individually tailored to minimize effects of income taxes.
Management
Fees
The highest management fee percentage we charge is 1.25%
of assets. The average
US
stock fund charges management fees of 1.47% according to an article
in the November 2003 issue of Smart Money magazine.
Additional
Investment Opportunities
Many
mutual funds are so large; they can only make meaningful investments
in securities of companies that have high trading volumes.
One of the reasons our investment manager has been so
successful at significantly outperforming the S&P 500 index is
the fact that he can take positions in well managed companies that have
trading volumes too low for mutual funds to be able to significantly
participate in. Typically,
these securities trade at prices that are much more reasonable in
comparison to the market than a company with similar fundamentals
and high trading volumes.
Performance
Reporting
We
believe portfolio performance is a very significant aspect in our
relationship with our clients, therefore we feel it is important for
our clients to know how well we are managing their assets.
Each quarter, our clients are mailed a performance report
that shows the returns that have been achieved.
In addition, we provide a report that shows Year to Date
realized gains and losses as well as a report portraying the
diversification of their investments by industrial categories.
